Honorable Daniel Salgado Sr., chairman for the Cahuilla Band of Indians, has been a policymaker that advocates for sovereignty, the protection of tribal youth, tribal economic growth, and the promotion of Cahuilla culture, language, and history. He currently serves on the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations, Californian Nations Indian Gaming Association, the Indian Gaming Association, the California Tirbal Families Coalition, and the National Congress of American Indians. In his terms as Chairman, Mr. Salgado has led Cahuilla's Water Rights efforts towards a settlement that keeps Cahuilla's inherent right to our water and resources at the forefront of the negotiations that will lead to the best possible outcome for the next seven generations of Cahuilla people.
