Anthony Madrigal Sr.
Anthony Madrigal Sr. serves as the Cahuilla Tribal Historic Preservation Officer. He is a member of the Cahuilla Band of Indians. He has worked in cultural resource management and preservation for many years. He holds a PhD degree in Native American history from the University of California Riverside. Mr. Madrigal works with the Cultural Director to preserve and protect cultural resources on the reservation and off the reservation in Cahuilla traditional territory. He assists with Cahuilla’s review and comment on projects falling under the California Environmental Quality Act and the National Historic Preservation Act. Mr. Madrigal also assists in review of contracts and agreements between Cahuilla and off reservation project developers. These contracts and agreements provide that Cahuilla Tribal Cultural Resource Monitors will be on these projects.
