Whitney Liera, ASW

Míyaxwe!

Hello, my name is Whitney. I am a Therapist working with the Cahuilla Consortium. I am a member of the Cahuilla Band of Indians, and it is an honor to be serving the Cahuilla people in this role. I am a recent graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU), where I received my Master's in social work. While in this MSW program, I was a Title IV-E recipient and focused my studies on Child Welfare. I also received my Pupil Personnel Services Credential with a focus on child welfare and attendance. Previously, I received my BA in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. My experience in the field includes suicide prevention and intervention, community prevention outreach, and domestic violence/sexual assault advocacy. While working at the Cahuilla Consortium, I hope to continue the great work that is being done and expand my advocacy skills. I enjoy running, beading, other art/crafts, and spending time with my two dogs, Stanley and Snickers. While I have spent the last 14 years living in San Diego County, I am excited to be back home and closer to my family and tribe.
