The Cahuilla Band of Indians established this committee by motion at a General Council meeting held June 13, 2021. The purpose of this committee is to ensure that governmental programs have policies and procedures that direct staff and tribal members as to the implementation of those programs. It is the objective of the committee to develop a process for policy and procedure development and review that establishes transparent and uniform tribal governmental policies and procedures that are consistent with tribal custom and tradition. Its goal is to further transparency, consistency, and efficiency in Cahuilla tribal governance.

The scope of the Committee’s delegated area is to governmental programs, and tribal ordinances that do not designate a board or commission with the authority to promulgate regulations or policies and procedures. The Committee shall not be precluded from providing assistance to any other committee, commission, board, or tribal Council if requested. All policies are subject to approval by the General Membership.
